Angel Choir
You should have seen it, or heard it, perhaps...
Christmas Day was coming to a close. Bellies had been stuffed full, and eyelids were growing heavy. We were all thinking that Christmas of 2005 was just about over. But just then, before our eyes, a choir of angels appeared.
It was an amazing sight: the tropical Kerala night, the stars lit on surrounding houses, the insects and birds making their own magical sounds, and nine joyful angels sitting on the porch singing their hearts out like never before.
"Joy to the World," "What Child is This?" "The First Noel," "Silent Night," and on and on and on until every Christmas carol known to man had been sung at least once. Neighbors from surrounding houses came out to witness the event, and the music flew on the warm night air and up to the heavens - a true tribute to the babe who, born in a lowly manger 2000 years ago, changed the world forever.
It was a beautiful sight. It was a beautiful sound. It was, I believe, a miracle because only God could have made those sounds so sweet, that sight so perfect. With God in our midst, we nine were a glorious angel choir. I cannot think of a better way to end a Christmas Day.
