Where's the Whistle?

I fear this is going to sound slightly childish, but I have to tell you about this great game I learned at the retreat I attended over the weekend. I'm calling it "Where's the Whistle?"

To play, you have to get a large group (the larger, the better, really) standing in a big, tight circle. Then you need to pick two or three people to leave the circle and go somewhere they won't be able to see or hear what those remaining in the circle are doing. When those people are out of sight and earshot, one person attaches the whistle to his back. This person will stand with his back to those who are forming the circle and move about the circle, stopping to allow people in the circle to blow the whistle as he passes. The object is for those who have left the circle to find the whistle.

So, you call them back one at a time and tell them to find the person holding the whistle, which is supposedly being passed between those standing in the circle. If the whistle-seeker is anything like JiJo, our first victim of this tricky game at the retreat, he will become confused, then frustrated, then downright crazy as he just cannot figure out how he can't find the whistle in the places where the sound keeps coming from. It's a mean trick, but boy, is it fun!

By the way, JiJo never did find the whistle on the other guy's back. The next contestant in the game had to help him out. And they're supposed to be in college!!!
